Welschriesling is the most widespread white wine variety in Slovenia, produces a good yield in all three wine-growing regions, and is also grown in Italy, Central and Eastern Europe. It originates in France, where it is not highly regarded. It matures late. Its wine is a light yellowish green colour. In good years, the variety is suitable for maturation in bottles, as well as for predicate wines.
